We need your help NOW to stop the spread of Ebola in Sierra Leone

The deaths inflicted upon local populations by this shocking disease have been well publicised in the media. The awful truth is that there is little sign of improvement and the cases in Sierra Leone alone are doubling every month. Further action is desperately needed.
Center for Disease Control estimates between 550,000 and 1.4 million Ebola cases by January 2015

Did you know that hand-washing helps keep people safe?

Ebola is spread through direct contact with an infected person’s bodily fluids; basic hygiene practices are essential. The World Health Organisation, UNICEF and CDC all agree that the simple practice of regular hand-washing is the most important measure to help prevent the spread of the virus.

Why are there no Ebola cases in areas where we work?

We have been working in Sierra Leone since 2006, providing over 15,000 people with sanitation and clean water, and teaching good hygiene practices such as hand-washing. We are encouraged by the fact that no cases of Ebola have been recorded in the areas in which we work, as we hope this shows our work has been effective in providing protection against Ebola.

The Sierra Leone Government have asked for your help

Local Government Ministers know that our work is effective and are calling the office every other day, asking us to urgently expand and reinforce our Water, Sanitation and Hygiene programme. Not only within our existing area, but throughout the region as a whole.
We have the expertise; all we need is the money.
We are asking you to be part of our response team. With your financial assistance we can make a difference to many thousands of people.

Donate today and you can help us:

1Provide hand-washing equipment.
Regular hand-washing and disinfecting of common areas kills the Ebola virus before transmission
Just £30 provides a tapped water container, disinfectant and anti-bacterial liquid soap for a village of 400 people.

2Continue to provide sustainable toilets and safe drinking water.
Without proper toilets people have to use open fields, spreading disease from person to person through both hands and feet.
£5 a month can help build a well, providing sustainable, clean drinking water all year round.
£10 a month can help build safe and private composting toilets with washrooms.
Please give as much as you can. Thank you.
