This year Black Friday, the American shopping event, imported to the UK by Amazon and Wal-mart owned Asda is set to take place on 28th November.
A number of high street stores have already confirmed plans to offer a range of Black Friday deals and offers mostly geared towards technology and electronics.
Amazon led the pack with an early Black Friday start on Monday, when it unveiled more than 3,000 "lighting deals- selling a limited amount of a product being discounted for a short time- but the big day will still be Friday.
This year, more than ever, Britain will be swamped with heavy promotions as retailers hope to kick-start the Christmas shopping season early. Visa Europe is forecasting that Britons will spend £360,000 per minute, or £6000 per second, on their cards on Black Friday. So, who's doing what and when?
John Lewis will open at 8am on Friday- earlier than usual- and its flagship store in Oxford Street will open for business until 10pm.
GAME stores will open from 11:59pm on Thursday night ahead of Black Friday. Early deals available.
Asda is keeping mum about its Black Friday offers until Thursday evening. So far, we know stores will open at 8am- same as usual- until stocks runs out on Friday.
PC World will offer Black Friday deals online and in store "until stock is gone" which will be opening at 8am.
Meanwhile, Argos will kick off its Black Friday event midnight on Thursday, promising discounts on toys, tech and TVs
