Kent and Essex hit by 4.3 earthquake in middle of the night

The tremors were recorded at Elham station in Kent


Thousands of people across Kent, London and Essex were woken up following an earthquake.
Tremors measured at 4.2 on the richter scale ata depth of 15km rocked the south east shortly before 3am.
The British Geological Survey which monitors earthquakes said its seismologists were working to determine the epicentre, which was reported to be two miles west of Ramsgate.
The BGS website deacribed the effects as “strong shaking”.
